Wow... I go away for a few days and look what I miss!
This cleaned-up version looks twice as good, and it makes me want it twice as much! ^_^
I do kind of miss the wind-swirly lines... but with the cloud background, they would probably be too much... and without those lines, the wind is still clearly reflected by so many other things -- the coat, the balloon, the hair.
I am so totally looking forward to owning a print of this! (Yes, yes, I'll be patient. ^_^)
It was fun to use gimp again because I haven't been doing that in a while.. But the path tool makes me crazy.. I really need a tablet.. I have to keep repeating to my self "Relax, you can only get it next year and you will!"
Anyways.. I just need to set up some stuff to make the print available.
Isn't that funny... I really prefer to use a mouse to use the path tool; I would think it would be harder to use with a tablet.
Or do you mean you'd rather be "painting" the lines with a tablet instead of drawing them with the pen tool? If that's the case, yeah, a tablet would probably help... although I've used a mouse for so long that I'm as good with a mouse as with a tablet. ^_^
The truth is, the path tool makes me angry 'cause I have accidentally deleted the paths so many times.. > <" And I think the lines might look better and I would probably sketch directly on the computer more often, with means I'd be uploading more stuff!
Anything that lets you upload more stuff is cool in my book. ^_^
Me personally, I don't have a very steady hand, so I really get a lot of benefit from using the path tool. Even if I don't save the paths, and delete each one immediately after I stroke it, I still think the results look better than I could do freehand, regardless of whether I was using a mouse, a tablet or an actual pen.
